I have played through both demos, and the game plays great... no lag in any way on my system at max settings... but is there more to the full version... is there a plot... is there any role playing... is it worth it... or is it just a hack up those zombies and spray blood everywhere fps game?

I still cannot get over how responsive everything is in that game... move left, move right, it is all so fluid...

Face it, the game just flat out rocks. The plot and story are paper thin, the zombies are plentiful, and the weapons are unique and hilarious.

As stated in this month's PC Gamer; Painkiller is a game where you enter a room, run backwards and strafe while shooting madly, and move on to the next room. Rinse and repeat.

Since you've played both demos, you've seen exactly what the gameplay will be like on all 24 levels. I played through the entire game with a huge [-peep-]-eating grin on my face, just because it was such great mindless fun. And yea, the graphics and physics are pretty killer too. I think it will go down in my gaming history, the time a ninja jumped off an upper level towards me and I pinned him to the ceiling with the stake gun. Priceless.

Anybody with the full retail version want to tell me - is the full version better than the demos?

I *loved* Serious Sam first and second encounter, but the Painkiller demos were...boring.

What is multi-player action like... is there an option.... I am less interested in online play... I like it on my LAN in my office with friends...

The full version is *exactly* like the demos. There is no additional depth added to the game.

Multiplayer sucked in my opinion, but the CPL recently added it to their list of tournament games, so it must be decent.

Yep, there is multiplayer in Painkiller... there's more than just DM from what I can remember, there's CTF and another mode where your weapons keep switching (or something like that).

Serious Sam also has multiplayer (and co-op unlike PK) but no interesting variations to my knowledge.
