My setup:
OS = WinXP pro
Graphics = Asus Radeon 9800XT (256MB ram)
Sound = SB Augigy2 ZS Platinum Pro
MOBO = K8V SE DELUXE
Socket 754, VIA K8T800, DDR 400 AGP 8X
RAM = 3 @ KVR400x64C3A/512 1536MB
400ddr sdram Kingston
CPU = Athlon64 3400+ 2.2gb

The mobo cited above has a 1gb ethernet appliance. How does one take
advantage of this high bandwidth option?
My home lan is all 10/100 ethernet with a Firewall/router and 1 other
hub/switch and 5-6 machines in the system. All nics are 10/100 capable.
What would I need to setup in order to move data a 1024MB?
Currently it takes a while to move a 2+ GB *.avi file over the lan. I
haven't timed it but WAY More than the 2 seconds it would
theoretically take at 1024MB.

You would need a 1Gb/s switch or hub and at least one 1Gb/s NIC in one of the other
platforms on the LAN.

PS: 1024MB is a capacity not a speed. When discussing Ethernet (actually *any*
networking topology) there is NO binary conversion. All numbers are decimal, Base 10.
Therefore Ethernet is always stated as; 1Mb/s, 10Mb/s, 100Mb/s and 1,000Mb/s or 1Gb/s
