Since replacing motherboard and hard drive I am unable to play an old DOS game called Sherlock. The game displays
but the mouse cursor remains static and the game freezes. The mouse is a Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical USB
connected to the mouse conn with a USB interconnection. The mouse is fine for all other applications but I do
love playing my 15 year old game. It is the same mouse that was used successfully when playing the game before the pc broke down. Having carried out the following, it still does not work
a. enabled legacy USB support in BIOS
b. Tried another USB port
c. Tried boot disk (6 disks)
d. The mouse works with the game on my son's and daughter's machines so I swopped the following files:
"autoexec.NT"
"config.NT"
"i8042prt.sys"
"mouclass.sys"
as all these files are called upon.
There is probably some small hidden file that I need, a dll perhaps. Has anyone got any more ideas???
