I am trying to set up a wireless extention to my home network. I have bought
a D-link wireless access point and have installed it. I have ping tested it
from my host PC with sucess. I have looked at the Windows XP help on wireless
networking and I am stuck. The help section refers me to a "network
connection icon" in "network connections" but when I open the "network
connections" window, there is no icon. Can anyone give me some idea where I
go from here. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi

First you have to setup a Network, an Access Point by it self is Not a
Network.

Log to this page it has a lot of links to instructions to Windows Network
Settings, and Sharing.

http://www.ezlan.net/Installing.html

Once you set up a Network you can configure the Wireless.

Wireless - Basic Configuration: http://www.ezlan.net/Wireless_Config.html

Wireless - Basic Security: http://www.ezlan.net/Wireless_Security.html

Jack (MVP-Networking).
