Replaced Motherboard Same SATA

MSI i865PE Springdale Chipset Motherboard Neo2-FIS2R had a small problem
and the vendor replaced it with a nearly identical, slightly newer MSI
i865PE Springdale Chipset Motherboard Neo2-PFISR. The only difference
readily noticeable in the specs is a change in the 10/100/Gb LAN from Intel®
82562EZ to Realtek® 8100C / 8110S.
I will reinstall the same Intel Pentium 4/ 3.0C GHz (Northwood) processor,
Corsair TwinX3700 DDR, and Maxtor 6Y080M0 SATA.
What problems should be anticipated ie should you reformat and clean
install WindowsXP or should it work when I fire it up.

If the 'only' thing that changed is the NIC, then you should have little
problem. But, they may have made other changes that they don't think you'll
care about, especially in the form of what Windows calls "Motherboard
Resources." I wouldn't expect any major problems though. Windows will
usually re-enumerate all the new bits, especially if there are only a few.
Be aware that if Windows detects a significant number of changes, you might
have to re-activate your copy of XP.

But if your install of Windows is older than a year or so, why not use this
as an opportunity to reinstall from scratch? That's always a good thing. . .
