Hi there all,

I have a special need and I am wondering if this is possible.

I want to scan for new hardware, say for example, I have plugged in an ADSL
modem with USB interface, but the OS doesn't detect it automatically, but I
need to force the system to scan for the hardware changes. So usually people
go into device manaer and select scan for hardware changes from the actions
menu.

I want to do this from command prompt. is there any command that I can use
which allows me to scan for hardware changes from a command prompt?

I knwo this is an awakward requirement, but I want to make a batch file and
place it on users desktops so when they complain regaridn the hardware and
if I have to scan for hardware changes, rather going through the long way, I
would kust ask the user to double click on the batch file.

Thanks for any reply in advance.
