I am trying to play audio on the computer, only to be
confronted relentlessly with the message:

Cannot play back the audio stream: no audio hardware is
available, or the hardware is not responding.

- I have splugged the speakers in. I assume they don't
need installation.
- I have no idea what to do to fix this problem. What is
causing it? Soundcard, perhaps?

Oh Hades, we've got a right one here. Let's see, we're having problems with
our sound - may I suggest we update our video card driver?

I'm still trying to work out what 'splugging' is.
