i am haveing an microsft xp problem. this is ticking me off. my dsl/cable modem updates will not download and my dial up modem will not down load.this is the drivers that is needed and i can not use them i asked microsoft for help but i have no internet connection . they have my request on the inbox and not answering it. i called and they said that i need to pay 250.00 for tech help i am at my witts end here . i am haveing problems the microsoft online crashes keep comming up and it is saying that i need updates i can not get the updates this error comes up driver error :lucent modemsoftwareupdatereleased march 31 2003 and the thomosinc networking software released january17,2003. there is a blank screen keeps poping up microsoft tvm.exe ip 66.159.219.199 http. it all happened when i installed microsofts firewall and antivirus called ez fire wall and ez antivirus. i am in computer hell right about now and no where to turn windows xp keeps crashing and i don't know what to do i recovered the system a number of times to get back what i had and that isn't helping .

Turn off the XP firewall if you have another installed. If that does
not work, turn ON the XP firewall and then remove (add-remove programs)
the EZ firewall and anti-virus. Maybe that will get the computer
stabilized. BTW, remove the computer from any internet connection until
you get this fixed if you do not have all of the recent XP security
updates.

Also, it is generally understood that driver updates from Microsoft
should be accepted with caution. If updates are available from the
device vendor, use those first or don't update at all.
