[SOLVED] Can I use a Mac Mini to run UNIX?

I just want to buy a Mac Mini to sharpen up my UNIX skills. Can I run UNIX using the new OS X Lion? Thanks.

Technically, you already are: Mac OS is certified UNIX under the hood!

If you're referring to Solaris, it should run in theory but I can't guarantee the Mac will take it. Once I tried to install Ubuntu on a Macbook, which appeared to go through but when it rebooted I just got a blank white screen with a flashing folder icon indicating no OS found -- the Linux boot loader GRUB wasn't successfully installed.

If you already have a Mac install VirtualBox and run one of the Unix-like systems in that.
