I'm trying to set up a wireless network. The desktop has Win XP with an included lan. When I power up the WAP it is seen by the laptop with the PCMCIA, but the desktop says NIC is unplugged going to the WAP. I disconnected the on board NIC and disabled it and installed a new PCI NIC card. Windows says its functioning correctly but also says the cable is unplugged. I have tried three different cables and still get the same message. I must be doing something wrong but can not figure out what. Any help would be appreciated.

I figured it out. To go to the WAP, I needed either a crossover cable or a hub for the two to connect through. Got the network, but a lot of wires here. Thanks
