If I use a burner with a cd-rom on the same cable, the
burner won't read or write (cd-rw or dvd). This only
happens with XP OS. I use win 2000 or win 98 and it work
fine. Now I have to unhook the cd-rom to be able to use
any of the burners. d.neris

Maximum two IDE devices per cable, right?

An answer to a similar post suggested that DVD burners don't like to be the slave drive - check your cable connection.
