Until a couple of days ago I would have said yes.
But as I was considering getting the latest 2011 version, I decided to do a search on just that question before parting with my $$.
While the the publishers give it the thumbs up, it seems that users are not so happy with it, even long term users.
So I will point you to Cnet reviews, but be sure to read all the readers reviews. I will let you decide. Sometimes companies get slack when they have a good reputation.

If brother-in-law is running Windows 7 Professional, it has its own built-in backup features: http://www.microsoft.com/showcase/en/US/details/5f45124...

Not sure if that'll suffice, but given that Professional is tailored for small businesses, it should help.

I am running Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit and have Acronis 2010. It works great.
