Hi to all!
Did any of you experienced Wake On Lan on P4C800 Mobo family?
I made a lot of tests on BIOS, but my machine indeed refuses to "wake" from
the S5 state by Magic Packet sent to the MAC Address of the Mobo's onboard
NIC.
Manual is vague on this concern and local technical support ppl claim that
it's impossible to WOL w/o a supplemental PCI card, what makes me angry.
But I keep optimistic.
Thank you for your attention.

P4C800E-Dlx no problems at all.
I use Admin's PowerSwitch from http://www.f-grubert.de/ (in German)

Danke fuer die Hinweis, keine Probleme auch mit Deutsch :)
Just two questions: any particular modification of the default settings of
the BIOS? Did you flash the BIOS before? Mine is still factory's (P4CED096).

As I recall, I did set WOL somewhere in the BIOS.
I also used the Intel PROSet v8.2.0.0 utility: "Wake On Connection: Forced"
and "Wake On Setting: Wake on Magic Packet" (Note: translated from Dutch, my
native language).
My other networked PC's (a Compaq EVO D310 with an Intel PRO/100VE and an
Asus Pundit with a Broadcom 440x 10/100) are also WOL-able.

There doesn't seem to be any "Wake on LAN" setting in BIOS. However,
as I think your technical support people have already correctly suggested,
there is a "Wake on PCI card" where the PCI card can be either a PCI modem
or a PCI LAN card.
