Computer hardware failure

Hello,
i recently reinstall windows 7 on my gateway laptop and my computer the video screen looks scrambled, when i connect to the internet my computer shuts down, and it freez up when installing licensed software

Try another reinstall , format when prompted,then do a clean install!

each time i reinstall windows 7 i notice that it creates windows old. my system have six windows old. does this mean that my install is corrupted?
