In a few days when the rest of the parts arrive I will be firing up the new
system with a P4 2.8E (Prescott). I've got the latest BIOS here to flash
to but the question is: If the board came with an earlier BIOS than will
support my CPU will the system come up to the extent that I can flash the
new BIOS or will I have to sub in a different CPU that the BIOS supports?

TIA for your help. This is a tad different than the jumpers were on my
trusty ol' P2B.

I believe you'll have to install a supported CPU that the stock BIOS does
support...

Just built 2 systems with that motherboard and installed P4 3.0E (Prescott)
and they booted up fine.

Allright, thanks for your responses guys. I've been assuming that at this
point the boards are shipping with a BIOS that will recognize the
Prescotts. I was just trying to avoid one of those annoying little
"gotchas!" that can pop up.

1 gig Crucial arrives Tuesday. ASUS V9570TD on Thurs. I'm ready!!
