freezes on validating game resources

Hey
I am having a real big problem trying to connect to any server on steam
network. weather it be half life or DOD i can play the games in single
player mode easily but when i try to connect to a multiplayer game it just
freezes on the load up when it gets to Validating Game Resources.
Can anyone HELP me with this problem.

Sure, try deleting the clientregistry.blob file from your /steam folder,
this usually gets things moving, the small downside is that you will have to
log in to your steam acount when you restart steam.

My game always do that thing , and freezes on validating game resources . But I found away very easy to do , in the game you just have to create a new game before you go to find servers , when the game is started (you have created your own server ) , you just have to close that server , and then you may enter on the online servers you want . Enjoy .
I'm portuguese so the language I use I think is not alright . So Sorry .
