Add New Hardware Wizard (XP Pro)

Hi, can anyone help?

I have xp pro, running grand (got it with the computer).
Recently when i want to install new hardware (usb hub,
adsl modem & sixpic camera) i install the usb drivers as
normal, then plug the equipment in. When the equipment is
plugged in the Add New Hardware Wizard pops onto the
screen then dissapears, on again then dissapears. keeps
doing this until you hit the cancel (if ur lucky enough to
get it when its on the screen).

I have managed to get the adsl modem in (thru the device
manager) but the camera and hub having no joy. Anyone any
ideas?
