I cannot install any hardware whatsoever. I first
noticed the problem trying to install a Canon digital
camera. I bought a PC card adapter (plug and play)
thinking I could just download the images through it, but
it doesn't load. The hardware wizard ultimately says
that the device could not be installed. Anybody have a
similar problem?

Ed, there's not enough information to help you. What Motherboard are you
using?

Hi,
Have you installed the drivers from the CD that came with the Canon digi cam?
You need to install ZoomBrowser EX first from that CD before you plug in the Canon digi cam.

I installed all the software for the camera. I also
installed all the software for another camera and I could
not install it either. Frustrated, I purchased a PC Card
adapter (plug&play) so I can read the CompactFlash card
directly, but windows xp was not able to install the card.
I have an IBM ThinkPad (regarding the motherboard Q), but
I do not know what kind of motherboard I am using.

I have installed all the drivers according to Canon's
instructions. I contacted them and ran an antivirus fix,
tried installing the hardware without sucess.
Frustrated, I bought a PC Card Adapter (plug & play) to
download the pictures through the card slot, but I cannot
install the card either.
I have an IBM ThinkPad. I do not know what motherboard I
have.
