I have a P4P800 Deluxe that has been a
little intermittent. About once every other
day it will just reboot. Sometimes there
is something in the event logs, sometimes
there isn't. I have been running with
BIOS Ver 1016. I noticed that there
was a newer BIOS (1017) so decided to
give that a try.

Unfortunately, I now constantly, every few
seconds, get an error message pop up saying..

!!! QueryDosDevice failed.
More data is available

Anyone any idea where this is coming from?
And where the "more data" is.
There is nothing in the event logs..

BTW - No overclocking on this machine.

Many thanks,
Roy

Have you searched on the string "QueryDosDevice failed"
including the double quotes, in groups.google.com ? One
post associates raid_tool.exe with the message.

Another post refers to code that probes the
serial ports.

A search in Altavista dug this up:

http://www.abxzone.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=55493

"His fix was to install version 2.0 of the 'raid tool'"
