Inkjets - best to leave switched on?

Better to turn it off when not using. The longer you leave it sitting
waiting to print the longer the cleaning cycle will be before you can print.
Save your ink. Turn the printer off.

That's what I would have thought, but as it often does any other time,
it ran the cleaning cycle AFTER printing, then parked the head again.

My printer wakes up automatically when I send a document to it, and it
often prints immediately. Go figure.

When I used to switch mine off in the evening, there was a cleaning cycle most
mornings on swtich on.
Now, I leave it on all the time and cleanning cycles are few and far between.
I drew my own conclusions.

I had very much the same experience with an Epson SC800.

In over three years, only one clogged nozzle situation.

Often, no cleaning cycles to start printing.

I started this by accident, having fully intended to "do the official
right thing" and turn the printer off before going to bed. B

ut I kept forgetting and it worked so well without being turned off that
I stopped crying when I did the "Bad" thing and left it on overnight or
overweek or overmonth.

I am a BAD BAD boy.

But my printer is real fine.
