PCI numbers in P2B

I need to select the interrupt for a PCI sound card I've got installed
in a P2B (since it won't share an interrupt under OS/2) but seem to be
having a hard time. For one thing, different manuals number the slots
differently -- one schematic lists the PCI slot closest to the ISA
slots as #1, while another has it as #4. Did this change through
different board revisions?

Strangely, however, even though I have played around with selecting
each with various IRQs in the BIOS, I can't seem to get one to stick.
In any case, can anyone tell me for sure which number is the "bottom"
PCI slot?

the one closest the agp slot is 1

it shares an interrupt with the agp card

I believe the second slot is your best bet.

The slot closest to the AGP slot is PCI1 on all Asus boards I've seen.

The slot numbers are silk screened on the board near the slots.

believe it or not, the manual for the "P2B-L, P2B-S, P2B-LS"
lists the PCI slots the other way: #4 is the one by the AGP
slot. I suppose the docs could be wrong but as that board
is running very nicely I'm not going to experiment.

anyway, thanks as ever P2B, you've been a big help for me
with these boards, I'm very pleased with their performance.

I have to believe it, because I just checked... never noticed that
before :) Ya got me!

The P2B-L/S/LS indeed have PCI#4 closest to the AGP slot (in the manual
and silkscreened on the board), while the vanilla P2B and P2B-D/DS have
PCI#1 closest to the AGP slot. The P2B-DS BIOS definitely agrees with
the manual, so I assume the rest do too - but I have not experimented to
verify.

Thanks :) They still do the job for me too...
