Building my 3rd a7n8x-xR2, I have installed everything but there is no post
screen - monitor stays off. No beep error codes or anything. All fans start,
drives and hd spin and keyboard is sought - just no error beeps? Kinda at a
loss as to where to go now.
I removed ram, it beeps on startup - so at least its seeing whats NOT there.
Is this at all indicative of a bad AGP port? I notice that the pwr_led1
light stays green no matter if the cards in there or not. Isnt it meant to
be red or something if theres an incompatible card installed or agp problem
or something?
Has anyone had this problem before? I'll try a few more things, then
hotflash the bios so I can tick that off.
Ive also booted with all hardware configs, Ive done all this before.
Thanks for any insights...

The green LED is connected to +5VSB. So, it is lit until the switch on
the back of the PSU is switched off. There is no intelligence to the
green LED - it is just warning you when it is unsafe to be adding
hardware to the computer.

The red LED is the "AGP_Warn" LED, and it used to be included on
motherboards. As far as I can tell, Asus still puts the working part
of the circuit on the board, but they no longer include the LED itself,
so when you have a completely dead system, there is no red LED to tell
you what the problem is. If you look near your AGP slot, you may
still see in white letters, the label "AGP Warn" next to the transistor
circuit.
