I wish there was such a thing as an "antivote" both in this thread and in real politics. This way you could vote against someone without having to endorse someone else. You would pick either a vote or antivote and cast for either the person you like the most or antivote against the person you like the least. In real politics you would need to at least break even or you could not take office.

I take it you haven't actually had much experience with supporting software written in Java. It's ten times worse than anything anyone could possibly imagine. Code that works fine on one Virtual Machine doesn't on the next. And if for some reason your Java software is ever on a busy server, prepare for Virtual Machine crashes and lock-ups. (And if it's a Windows 9x machine, be ready for computer crashes and lock-ups as well.)

Java is the most evil programming language known to mankind. It's great in concept, but it's horrible in how it's been executed.

And I won't even get into just how incredibly slow it can be when it goes into loops or math-intensive calculations, or the strange problems that can occur when the Virtual Machine is first loading up. Or how SLOW the program loads the first time when it's first loading up the Virtual Machine.

Java is a bane. Jihad on Java!

ANSI C is the way to go.
