CRC map?

Hey all.

I haven't played CS in ages. Anyway, I've just got back into it and most of
the maps I try to play say that they "Couldn't CRC the BSP" (even the ones
where the maps certainly are in the correct folder).

Any idea what's going on?

are you using the steam version of 1.6?

most ot the time it's due to bsp files being different from server. If you dl'd the map from the server then it may be the sound file that is corrupt. best bet is to delete the map and sound file for the maps that don't work and re-download them. Most peeps go to fpsbannana to get the maps they need. If after all that it still don't work, then it is not your fault. chances are the server has an older version of the map and needs to updated. try going to another server. Hope that works for you. \
btw- this is most common with people that were in the process of dl and the server changed maps or they got disconnected from server - thus leaving a incomplete file packet.
