Hi all,

Looking for some advice. I have a pc that has an IDE DVD+RW and generic
IDE DVDRom drives. Everything was fine then, suddenly, the DVDRom refuses to
read any disks at all. The writer is fine. Nothing has changed, as far as I
can tell. You can still see the drive in explorer and adding / removing it /
rebooting doesnt help. Device manager maintains that the drive is fine.

It is listed as a IDE DVD Rom 16x

The writer is an IDE HP DVD Writer 400c

and I'm using XP Home. The rest of the pc has no "weird" hardware in it,
just a Geforce FX5950ultra, bog standard sound card, modem, network etc.

Many thanks!

Kevin
