There seems to be a problem with XP and my specific USB
chipset: the communication with composite devices like
camcorders and scanners is lost immediately. There is NO
hardware problem, since they all work fine under Win98.
Lots of research but still no answers!

Did you install the drivers for the motherboard chipset? They are found at
the motherboard manufacturer's website.
