Hi Everyone

Ive just bought this motherboard along with a p4 prescott 3ghz motherboard,
an enermax power supply and a couple of hitachi deskstar ide hard drives.

After installing the board and sorting out the jumpers on my 2 hard drives
and cd roms, upon boot up it says no bios is installed after scanning for
IDE drives, if i unplug the hard drives it still says no bios installed but
then just goes into the bios anyway, and if i unplug both Cd roms and hard
drives it does go into the bios in the same way as before

I also get the error "No drives attatched to fasttrack controller"

i also get "primary slave hard disk error"

Can anyone offer any help or support as i would like to get my pc up and
running asap

If your not using the promise raid controller it can be disabled in the bios
which will get rid of all the errors except the "primary slave hard disk
error"
but leaving it enabled won't hurt anything.
How are you hard drives and cdrom drives jumpered? You don't say
if your using XP or 98. Check in the bios under IDE configuration,
check in your manual for more info. also you could try setting IDE
detect timeout to a higher number if possible.

You can ignore the error about "bios not installed" and "No drives
attached to fasttrack controller".

However if you want to stop them happening, in the BIOS go to
"Onboard Device Configuration" and disable "Onboard promise
Controller"

You now need to format and install the operating system on your
primary drive.

If you are installing Windows XP, I would recommend the following
guide.

Go to Item #3 ..Step-By-Step Procedure

Good luck

You HAVE "loaded bios defaults" I assume?

On your primary drive is the cable correct? Blue end to the mb and the other
end to the HD if it is to be master.(dont connect the middle connector as
its for SLAVE) Is the jumper on the hd set to master too?

Is your hard drive on IDE socket 1?

I got that too, just disable the bios setting as the other poster mentioned
and you'll won't get that message, and the boot up woll be a little quicker
too. It's in the BIOS under the Advanced tab is the Onboard section disable
the Promise Controller.
