I have an Acer 340P scanner. I have downloaded the zip program from Benq. I
have followed instructions to the letter many times. Control Panel says
scanner working, XP does not find it. It is daisy chained with and HP
parallel printer.
Can anyone please help?
Alan

Do Acer / BenQ have a recommended setting for the Printer Port?

Check the manual and you BIOS settings for LPT.

It may be ECP or Bi-Directional or some other with which the Scanner is not compatible. The setting is easily changed in BIOS.

Also, Windows XP does not support daisy-chaining the printer
and scanner.

You may get this setup to work, but I don't envy you. You will NEVER
get the printer to work as XP won't support the pass-through the
scanner to the printer. In general, XP doesn't really like parrallel
port scanners very much.

For less than $50 you can get a nice USB scanner that provides much
better resolution than what you have now, and avoid all the headaches.
