I already own an SMC barricade wired router and have 3 computers hooked up to it that work fine. I want to add a wireless connection from my laptop to the wired lan. Can I just buy an access point and wire it to the 4th (open) port on my router. If this works will it then allow me to share internet across all 4 computer and share file between the computers.

Also can I buy just any WiFi pc card (802.11b) from one manufactuer and the access point from another one and will they work.
