hello,
i have a desktop physically connected to 1. a wireless router and 2. a 56k
modem. as well i have 2 laptops with wireless cards. i have successfully been
using the three to share files wirelessly. i would like to now try and use
the 2 laptops to connect to the internet wirlessly through the desktop. i
have been unsuccessful so far using the ICS feature (xp home ed.). i have
used the networking wizard on all three so that the clients (laptops) have
access to the desktops internet connection but so far all that the clients do
is dial their own internal modems.

thanks for your reply,

after visiting the sites i am now aware of more options.
if i understand correctly, option#3, getting a router with a serial port for
an external modem, seems to bypass ICS totally which may be the best bet but
i would like to take an approach that does not require buying new hardware.

perhaps a better question maybe- has anyone successfully used ics with a
wired (to the router and internal modem) host and two client's(with wireless
cards) to connect to netzero internet ?
thanks

Go to internet explorer. Click on tools>>connections. Select "Never dial a
connection". You are not wanting to dial out but connect to another PC over
a network.
