Adding USB 2.0 to USB 1.1 Motherboard

I have a Dell laptop which comes with a couple of built-in USB 1.1 ports.

I'd like to add USB 2.0 port(s). I've seen plug-ins such as a Targus port
replicator. It plugs into a USB port and has several USB 2.0 output ports.
But I can't find out if it can work if plugged into a USB 1.1 port.

In addition, the laptop has an unused PCMCIA slot.

Can anyone suggest a device which would work?

Buy the PCMCIA USB 2.0 card that have an external power supply from your PS/2 port.

Powering off the PS/2 is nice,but not enough if you want to connect high power devices such as
CDRW, large disk drives. Then you'll need external supply from AC, or a powered USB hub.

causing constant problems..The PCMCIA card i bought has
has 2 USB ports It works fine...You can also add ports
with a hub...I don't remember the brand of my PCMCIA
card , but any computer store will have a few brands, i
imagine...I think i paid about $45 for it ..
