Bypassing Login Screen With No Mouse & Keyboard?

Is there any way to bypass the windows 7 login screen because the mouse and keyboard are not installing on start up. I originally had a Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard combo. A couple of days ago, I plugged in my iPod shuffle into the dock and a static shock occurred. I ordered a new wireless mouse and keyboard but I can't get passed the login screen so that the drivers can be installed. Do wireless peripherals usually install on startup or do I actually have to get into windows for the drivers to install?

From personal experience, I've needed to login to install the drivers. Is there a port that isn't fried (or another one that you didn't plug your ipod into) to connect a wired keyboard/mouse into your computer?

The problem is that I don't know what port is fried or not & I don't have a wired keyboard to test it.

I may be getting a wired keyboard to test it tomorrow but I was just wondering if there was a work around that didn't involve adding a wired keyboard into the mix.
