Hi,

I've got an Epson CX6400 that came with photo restoration software
called Epson Easy Photo Fix. Because this software also comes with
the newer Epson scanners, I assume it's included in the scanner driver
for both the stand alone scanners and the CX6400 multifunction
machine. In other words, it's not in the CX6400 Smart Panel.

But, I can't find the Easy Photo Fix. I expected to see it available
when I launched the scanner function.

I installed all of the software on the set up CD that came with the
CX6400: drivers, PhotoImpression, and SmartPanel

Can anyone help me?

Sincerely,
Bruce

I think you are referring to a feature in their drivers, not a separate
installable software. If you scan an image, the preview options include a
checkbox to enable/disable this feature which enhances faded colours etc.

actually, it may even be a part of the printer firmware. More details on

It is just a check box in the Epson twain that you use when you use smart
panel.

Thanks to all.

Because Epson calls this "Epson Easy Photo Fix (TM) Technology", and has
it in big yellow letters on the box, I was expecting to either find a
separate application for this, or find a button in one of the included
applications labeled "Easy Photo Fix", or similar.

Here's what Epson sent me (which is what I found after I sent off my
note):
========================================================================
Thank you for contacting the Epson Connection.

If you have faded photos or negatives, you can use the Color Restoration
setting in your software to improve the color of your scan. You can
select
this setting in Smart Panel or in EPSON Scan.

Using Smart Panel

1. Open Smart Panel.
2. Select RePrint Photo.
3. Click the Color Restoration icon.

Using EPSON Scan

NOTE: Color Restoration is available in Home and Professional Modes.

1. Start EPSON Scan.
2. Click the Preview button at the bottom of the screen.
3. Then select the Color Restoration checkbox. (If you’re using
Professional Mode, you may need to scroll to the bottom of the screen.)
========================================================================

Thanks again,
Bruce
