It is a huge monster of a machine that has to be cut from its packing
case, one way to stop casual returns I suspect. Some report that the
sheet feeding is awkward and that the 760 might be better, if one does
not have a lot of space then one is working and living around this
printer, it's "desktop" designation is an oxymoron.

Be warned on this point, make sure you understand the space
requirements for the workload you intend to ship to this printer, it
can stick out six feet and is vulnerable to accidental damage by
bumping into it, the machine looks ugly with the larger ink tanks
sticking out and I'm afraid of damage to them too.

The machine prints quite well, but my Epson 950 is faster and sharper
and does not suffer from the blooming and solarisation that I find
with the Ultra Chrome Inks, I sure better find a good media or new
printer drivers and it a dog to actually set up.

Be aware that, despite the fabulous array of media one may be
restricted to just Matte or a version of Matte to avoid it printing
problems, as a professional machine, my products will be scrutinised
and I know some of my clients will not accept it output on the media
(Pre Lus Ph & Pre SG Ph) that I have tried.

Against this is a joy to use and is refreshingly sturdy, I hope to
have "templates" ironed out soon to cover my basic work requirements,
I do bits of everything and don't specialise in large prints. I found
myself on my own, despite other 4000 owners nearby and willing to help
me, with my personal problems, most of the others accepted the
printer's default settings and media handling and were overjoyed with
its performance, I on the other hand was on the point of retuning it
~~ I think it is unnecessarily complex in construction and in an
environment where one is used to "Windows" it is more like stepping
back to "command line input" mode.

I like lustre or semigloss and find my customer like them too, I do
not want to be stuck using a matte paper***** this is probably the
second most serious consideration for the work you want to do ~ or
make sure nothing black or white is in the images!!!!

Take care now!
