Hi

Do remove the CMOS Battery and reset the BIOS to defaults before
updateing to 1017 BIOS or vice versa?

I would update the BIOS, then Reset the CMOS . In that Order.

You dont HAVE to remove the battery. Just update the BIOS
and in the BIOS set it back to default setitngs. And change whatever
needs changing. And save the settings and reboot.
