i have had a masive system failure so i had to re install
my operating system. on a new hard disk..
however my keyboard has errors in it.

i have no pound sign when i press it i get this ( # )
symbol

when i press the (shift + 2 buttons) i get (@) not(") and
when i press (shift and the @ button i get (") not (@).
they have switched over.

this happened once before when i first set up my
computer. it was easy to sort out but i cant remember how
to do it.

I have tried the regionall settings but this made no
difference. i am in uk
what do i do?

You are still in the 'wrong' country..... you have US selected instead of
UK. You need to ensure you have correctly identified your region for ALL
the settings....

Click on Control Panel, Regional and Language Settings... Regional
Options...... First drop down... select English (United Kingdom).
Second.... Location... United Kingdom.

Second tab... Settings.... Default Imput Language... English (United
Kingdom)

Installed Services.... English (United Kingdom)... Keyboard.... UK

Third tab... Advanced.... English (United Kingdom)
