I just upgraded my Pentium II machine to a Pentium IV, new motherboard, CPU,
and memory and reloaded Windows XP. Now my Sony CD-RW drive no longer works
properly. I attempted to copy files to an audio CD, and while the process
would start, the system seems to lock up or get lost. No success in getting
the CD burned.

I also tried to reload some JPEG files from a previously burned CD, and it
works incredibly slow if at all.

Is there a hardware incompatibility between this CD drive and Windows XP?
If so, how does one go about resolving the issue besides changing hardware?

Thanks,

Doug

1) What burning software are you using ?
2) Have you checked to see if the version of the burning
software you are using is compatible with Windows XP ?
3) Have you checked the SONY site for more info ?
4) Have you looked in Event Viewer for a clue ?

Good Luck !

I was using B's Gold 5 that came with the Sony disc drive, supposedly is
compatible with XP. The Sony site is worthless - no info at all.

I am unfamiliar with Event Viewer, but I'll go find it.
