I'm having trouble getting the Soundblaster Live 5.1 card to work on my
Asus P4S8X-X motherboard, under Win98se, when I use the microphone for
input. I get the following error: MMSTEM004. And I told that the
specified device is in use.

I went into the BIOS and disabled the "onboard AC97 Audio Controller
[Auto]" in an attempt to "remove" the built-in soundcard. However, I'm
still getting the above error.

1. Should I have disabled the Audio Controller?
2. Does anyone know what is causing my problem?

Thanks,
Charles
