Bulk photo/dye black ink in UK?

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a supplier of bulk (ie 500ml) photo/dye black ink
in the UK? It's for a Canon i865.

Bulk photo/dye colours are easy enough to find but so far have only
come across pigment/universal black.

Are you sure the ink you found is Pigment. most universal ink is Dye,
Universal= works in all, Dye= works in all. Pigment only works in pigment
and only a few dye printers.

I stand corrected if it says pigment on the bottle, but if it does it isn't
universal

I second what Paul says.

I've used this supplier for HP colour ink and it's good stuff, although I don't
use them for pigmented black. They also sell bulk black Canon ink but I haven't

Hi guys,

Thanks for the replies.

The Canon i865 has two black cartridges, one of which is pigment and
the other dye.

Someone on this group provided the following info a while ago:

BCI-3e Black - High Density Pigment TEXT Black Ink
BCI-6 Black - High Load Dye Based Black Ink
BCI-6 Primary Colors - High Load Dye Base Color Inks
BCI-6 Photo-Colors - 1/6th Density Dye Base Color Inks

I'm confused about whether universal is dye or pigement, and any
clarification would be appreciated. Regardless of which is which, the
Canon presumably needs both --- I understand they don't mix well.
