I had to reload Windows XP prof. and lost all the software
for my cameras, but thought this would be ok as XP is
supposed to locate such software automatically. - This
was the case when I first installed the camera last year.
However although Device manager tells me it is loaded and
working correctly (and the USB) When I go to use it it
tells me it cannot locate the software for this item.
Also in Scanners and Cameras in control panel the cameras
are no where to be seen. Any ideas.

Jackie,
WinXP loads drivers, NOT software. You camera should've come with a CD
that has the software on it.

Go to the website of the camera manufacturer, download and reinstall the
software.
