I have no sound from Media Player it highlights all

pops up. Have no greetings message when turning on
machine now. Have WindowsXP-computer only two months
old, and have had no problems until this week. Cannot
also go back on system to an earlier time, will only let

Look in Device Manager, type "devmgmt.msc" (no quotes) and then open the
tree (+ sign) next to Display adapters. See if they are working or have a !
next to it. If they are not there, then it may show up in a listing called
"Other devices". In any case, right on the expanded item, choose properties,
and see if it says "Device working properly. If it doesn't you need to
reinstall the drivers again, preferably by getting the latest drivers from
the website of the manufacturer of your video card.

If it doesn't show up at all, you card may be fried, and may need to be
replaced. But before doing that after the above, check that the card is
properly seated in its slot on the MOBO, it is possible it became unseated
for whatever reason.
