I am hard wired networked with two computers at home.

Is there a way I could "split" the cable connection and create
a wireless connection just for my Axim?

I guess it could be done if I go completely wireless with
all three.

Yes, most wi-fi routers include wired ports along with the wireless.

forgive me for trying to make sure I was "clear?"
in other words, be able to be on the net with my
Axim through a wireless (because it HAS to be wireless???)
and stay the way I am with my wired network?
I guess have two?

Get a hub, and have your PCs hanging off the hub (connector block if
you want to look at it like that) Thats what I do : I got

DSL Modem-> Router ->Hub

Then

Hub->PC1
Hub->PC2
Hub->Wireless access point

And finally, 2 laptops (work one & housemates) and the axim set up to
use the air to connect. A cheap 5 port hub for you to connect your PCs
and AP to will cost about $25 retail (or less on ebay) of you shop
around.

Cheers - Neil
