I have been running a A7N8X-E Deluxe board with an Athlon 2600 and 2
sticks of Viking 512 MB DDR 400 memory (DDR64X64PC320016EL) with
absolutely no problems.
I put a Barton 3200 in the board and it won't post with both sticks
present. If I remove a stick it will boot into Windows 2000 at FSB 200
but errors out very politely in intensive programs like Prime95 and
PCmark 04.

If I stay at 200 Mhz FSB but drop the multiplier from 11 to 10 with
the one stick of RAM, the machine is stable in Prime95 and PCMark04.

Is the issue simply that the RAM is not good enough ? I note that it
is not one of those specifically listed by Asus here.

If the issue is RAM, can anyone recommend a product either from the
Asus list or otherwise ?

Thanks.
