For some strange reason the TCP/IP protocol will not work with my NIC unless I uninstall my modem. In the network properties in the control panel it shows that TCP/IP is installed with the NIC and modem, but, only the modem will work with TCP/IP. Any ideas on what the prob is? BTW IPX works fine.

What was used to program a programming program?

LoL!

Here's one for you jlanka.

I have networking running between 2 PCs via router/switch at 10/100. I can access the web with either PC and no speed problems.

When I get either PC to ping itself or ping 127.0.0.1 I get a time out message. WTF!!!

Not really bothered, just curious.

youch! Does everything look good AFA proper subnet/mask/gateway etc? These are DHCP clients? XP? 2K?

It's always the one thing you never suspected.

Static IPs. No DHCP. Subnet masks are fine. Go figure.

PC's gateway is the the router IP. WAN side of router IP is 0.0.0.0 etc, must auto sense.
