I have windows XP and a Pioneer DVR-106D external dvd-rw
drive using USB 2.0. I have used the drive in the past
fine but recently the drive is seen only as a cd-rom
drive in "My Computer". The drive shows up correctly on
the device manager however. Also, in "My Computer" where
I use to have just my CD-RW drive and DVD-RW drive I now
have my CD-RW(d), DVD-ROM(e) and another CD-ROM(f).Easy
CD Creator 5.5, which use to work perfectly, now tells me
there is no supported drives. Neo Burning Rom 6 burns
the DVD but XP won't open the disks, stating the disk is
corrupt or of an unreadable format. The disk shows up in
the DVD-ROM(e) drive but the error pops up when I try to
open it and the new CD-ROM(f) drive is inaccessible. All
drives, firmware and updates are applied to all hard and
software. Any ideas?
