I've got a problem with my speakers defaulting to 2 speaker desktop instead
of the 4.1 surround setup. It's a Windows bug according to previous
searches in newsgroups. And no, the latest drivers don't work. My search
came up with this being discussed many times, with one of them mentioning a
fix for the bug written by someone. Unfortunately I can't find this program
anywhere. Can anyone help? Hope someone knows cuz I've been wondering
since the days of WinME! :-(

See below for the previous discussions. Exact same problem. Running WinXP,
SB Audigy, Soundworks FPS2000.

I have Altec lansing speakers. I don't think the brand of speakers make a
difference though.

Are you using digital out? That's what I'm using.
