Show wireless networks window is blank

On one laptop when it logs on to the wireless network the connection icon in
the systrm tray says it is connected to "ANY" rather than showing the actual
access point ID. Also when selecting to view availabe wireless networks,
none are shown.

On a second laptop the connection icon shows the ID of the WAP and the
wireless networks are shown correctly.

Both are HP laptops running XP SP2.

Any ideas how to get the first laptop to show the wireless IDs?
