Hi,
1stly can I just say that I'm an IPAQ PPC newbie so PLEASE be gentle
with me.
I've recently purchased the above PPC device and I'm impressed.
However on many review sites it is advised to patch the IPAQ as WiFi
isn't good "out-of-the-box"
to download THE update.. ah, but there's not An update but many many
updates. Question is (excuse my stupid question) which one(s) do I
need to install? do I need to install them in a particular order? I'm
a bit confused by the many downloads available. I know I have
Microsoft Pocket PC 2003 but that's about all I know. (I'm a Palm
convert.. Been spoiled by Palm's easy interface!!)
Can anyone take pity on this poor unfortunate and share their wisdom
and shed some light on my confusion?

There are actually two updates, coming in pairs. Unless your network
infrastructure uses the new WPA authentication, you should download and
install these two:
These are two updates because one actually updates the WLAN hardware module
while the other one is an updated driver for the operating system layer.

The SoftPaq notes for the firmware update (the second one above) indicate
that you first need to apply the driver update (the first one).
Before installing, you should compare the version information in
Start/Settings/System/Asset Manager with the versions in the updates. In
this case, it's very unlikely that you already have the updates from May in
your device, but usually driver updates are slipstreamed production devices
over time. You may not need to download and install some updates that were
necessary for early production runs.
