I have an old, heavily used Epson Stylus Color 980.
The cleaning area (where the head parks) was rather messy with of a
mixture of half-dried ink and lint/dust.
I successfully cleaned that with 91% isopropanol, toothpicks, qtips,
and a vacuum cleaner.
The print quality significantly improved.
However, I still see very regular marks on the right hand side of the
paper when I print. They are horizontal, and appear to be made by a
piece of lint or something stuck to the print head.
Cleaning the head doesn't help, and I'd like to wipe that piece of
lint off of the print head!
Has anyone successfully removed and reinstalled their Epson Stylus
Color 980 print head?
How can I do this without damaging my printer?
This is an excellent printer--bought new a couple years ago, and still
doing an excellent job after thousands of sheets--except for the lint.
