I would like to know what I need to do to get my scanner
working. It scans the picture ok but I can not get it to
go into Word so that I can send it. I get an error
message that is Fatal Execution Engene Error (0x792
baca). I click ok and get the following message.
Application has generated an exception that could no be
handled. I have talked to HP and they had me uninstall
the software and reinstall it. That did not work. They
say that I need to down load the Windows XP Service
pack. I already had that before. What is next?

Thank,

Ron

You are not on an island.

I have seen many of the all-in-one units from HP and not ONE has been installed successfully.

The best result that I have seen is that all functions of the scanner and the ability to scan into a word document etc are functional. The 'non performaning' aspects are that hpoevm08.exe and hpobnz08.exe tasks are running all the time. These two prevent any new applications from installing correctly and also prevent XP from performaing an automatic shutdown.

Let's hope that eventually HP will rewrite their software so that it works. After all they have great Hardware.

Keep on the phone to them and make sure that you get satisfaction or a full refund on the product.

Also, for now, I would suggest saving the image file to the computer,
then open word, then import the image.
